Patrick Donahue is a 2007 MIF/P from Highlands Christian High School in Boca Raton, FL, with a 5'10'', 168 lb. frame. Defensively he has solid arm strength, 75 mph, on his throws across the diamond and he shows very good accuracy. Donahue has good hands the will allow him to play either middle infield position. He showed range during the showcase games where he made a very nice diving play. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with a rotational swing. Donahue has good bat speed through the hitting zone with a short and compact bat path. He makes solid line drive contact showing good bat control and the ability to put the ball in play. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with nice mechanics and a balanced delivery. His arm works well with good arm speed. His fastball topped out at 82 mph with arm side life. Donahue has good control of his two pitches keeping the ball out of the middle of the plate. He is a two-way player with upside, and is a good student as well.
