Melvin Mercedes is a 2011 MIF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends Clinton HS. Shorter build, live athletic actions with some strength. Quick feet defensively, short release, soft hands, has arm strength, very good range, profiles to second base, 7.00 runner. Right handed hitter, quick hands hitting, short to the ball, line drive swing, has some bat speed, could balance better. Solid all around skills. Good student.
