2004 Underclass National Showcase
Robert Chlebnikow -- Chlebnikow is a 5-9 junior left hander from New Jersey with a good athletic build and some upper body strength. He threw 3 innings for us at the World Underclass, showing smooth pitching mechanics from a ¾’s release point. Chlebnikow’s fastball was 77-81 mph with occasional tailing action to right handed hitters and he maintained his velocity well. He started off throwing a curveball in the 63-67 mph range that had some good spin to it but seemed to lose confidence in this pitch later on and started slowing down his arm. Chlebnikow didn’t show a change up in Ft Myers. He shows agility and good instincts. He can hit. Good balanced LH swing with some bat speed. Uses all the field and stays inside the ball very well. His arm plays well in both corner outfield spots.
