We’ve seen Krosschell pitch a number of times as a member of the Colorado Slammers and at other events. He has a very loose, whippy arm action with a low elbow and a mid ¾’s release point. Krosschell has a very quick arm and threw 87-89 mph in Fort Myers and we’ve seen him at 90-91 mph in the past. His fastball tends to be a bit on the straight side at times, which is unexpected from his release point and could probably be helped by some adjustments in his grip. Krosschell’s breaking ball is a 77-79 mph slider that gets pretty tight spin and rotation but tends to be a little flat at other times. Krosschell does a very good job of throwing strikes and keeping the ball down and appears to have a durable arm. He’s also a solid student who has signed to attend New Mexico State. This kid really competes and he has a MLB arm. Scary to think he will get bigger and stronger in the future.
