Sam Carrillo is a 2014 OF/1B, LHP with a 5-10 157 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Sarasota. Medium, thin, wiry build with room to fill out further. Ran a 7.38 60 yard dash. Bats from both sides of the plate. Has an aggressive approach and doesn't get cheated on his swings. Equally solid from each side and flashes good bat speed. Extends well out in front. uses a high leg lift from the left side and shows sound swing mechanics and balance. Good quickness in his hands. Shows solid outfield arm strength and has carry on his throws. Also took the mound, reached 80 mph with his fastball from an over the top arm slot. Velocity comes easy for him, but needs to work down in the zone. Good student.
