2005 Sunshine West Showcase
Ryan Floros is a 2006 right handed pitcher from Westview HS in San Diego, CA, with a 6'2", 165 lb. frame. Floros has a projectable pitcher's body with room for added strength. He has a clean and loose arm from a 3/4 arm slot with good mechanics. His delivery is slow and controlled with good balance over the rubber. Floros uses a higher leg kick, and has a short arm circle. His fastball topped out at 85 mph with good, late sink, and he showed good control of the pitch. He also mixes in a 69 mph curveball with good depth when he stays on top with his release, and a 70 mph change with some sink. Offensively he hits from the right side with a slightly closed stance. He gets his weight out on his front side early at times, but when he stays back he shows good bat speed and the ability to use the whole field. Floros also shows his arm strength and athleticism behind the plate. He has a quick arm on his throws to second with good pop times. Floros has the chance to be a two-way player at the next level, but we think his upside is higher on the mound where he has the chance to be very, very good. He is also a very good student.
