Alex Phillips is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Nacogdoches, TX who attends Central Heights HS. Big strong physical build, physically mature. Multi-part delivery, some effort on release, compact arm action, 3/4's arm slot, hides ball well and has deception in his delivery. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight. Nice curveball, hard spin with sharp downer bite, good shape and depth, developing feel for a change up. Next step will be improving fastball command, has gained 3-4 mph in the last year. Very good student.
