2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Lowe is a 5-11 middle infielder from Florida with a good balance of tools and skills. He has a projectable frame for future strength gains and profiles best at third base defensively. Lowe’s best defensive tool is his arm strength and he made a number of fine plays during the showcase games that showed off the carry he has on his throws. He’s a 7.1 runner with some lateral quickness as well. At the plate, Lowe has a polished approach that uses his present tools well. He stays within himself with a compact swing inside the ball and showed a willingness and ability to hit the ball hard to the opposite field. As Lowe gets stronger, we could see him developing some power as he adjusts his balance and bat head skills to driving the ball more. Overall, there isn’t one area that Lowe jumps out in, but he’s solid everywhere and is the type of athlete who should continue to improve as he physically matures. Lowe is also a good student.
