Alex Mercer is a 2012 RHP/MIF with a 6-3 181 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Saint Xavier. He has a long, slender frame with room to fill out. On the mound, he gets arm thru quickly. He has a high, balanced kick, wide hand separation and throws downhill. He has good deception on an 11/5 curveball with late break, keeping it down in zone. He moves well on infield, his feet work well. He fields cleanly and has a solid arm. Open stance at plate, short swing with good extension and balance. Good bat speed. Good student.
