Jake Cassady is a 2012 LHP/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Dowling Catholic. Long, lean, athletic build with room to fill out. Pitches from 3/4 slot with slow tempo delivery. Short in the back with short arm action and some extension. Fastball sat around 80 and showed arm side run. Curveball with 11/5 break at 73 had rolling break and 75 mph changeup is developing third pitch. Let-handed hitter with a deep load and quick bat at the plate. Aggressive swing with a line drive plane and good contact skills. Projects to gain more power. Good student.
