Gregory Deichmann is a 2014 SS/2B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Metairie, LA who attends Brother Martin HS. Slender athletic build, lots of room to fill out and get stronger. Left handed hitter, balanced stance, short efficient load, big powerful swing with separation and lift, outstanding bat speed, ball explodes off the barrel, stays balanced and through the ball well, will swing/miss but has huge power when squared up, loud contact, can it it out to any part of the ball park but best pulling, big offensive ceiling. 6.72 runner, works through the ball well in the middle infield, good footwork and lateral mobility, solid arm strength with carry, good feeds on double plays, should have the tools to play anywhere in the infield, most intriguing possibility might be second base. Resembles a more physical Chase Utley. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
