Ian Luttrell is a 2014 LHP/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from River Forest, IL who attends Oak Park & River Forest HS. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Drift and drive pitching mechanics, compact arm action, low to mid 3/4's release point, low elbow release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly flat/straight with some running action at times, locates fastball well, especially to the arm side. Big sweeping curveball with good depth, some feel for change up, slider and change up might be same pitch with cutting action on change. Has pitchability and mixes it up well. Graded out better as a hitter at this event. Left handed hitter, good balanced load, quiet approach, short quick swing with good bat speed, centers the ball very well, sees the ball, best pulling the ball and will reach on the outside half, fluid swing with good hitting rhythm. Plays outfield and first base when not pitching. Good student.
