Garrett Cave is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Sumterville, FL who attends South Sumter HS. Loose and projectable pitcher's build, lots of room to get stronger. Fast paced hand drop delivery, quick compact arm circle, tends to drift in delivery forcing arm to rush to catch up, 3/4's arm slot, loose arm out front. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 91 mph, have seen up to 93 mph, will cut fastball glove side with good effect, projects more velocity in the future. Drift in delivery affects ability to get out front with curveball, soft spin, throws curveball for strikes, potential to improve with delivery adjustments. Did not see a change up. Development of secondary pitches will be key, has the potential for a plus fastball and has added 5-7 mph in the last year. Good student.
