2004 Indoor Pitchers/Catchers Showcase
Tim Clubb: Clubb is a junior athlete from Missouri with a very projectable 6-2, 175 lb. frame and a wealth of different baseball tools and skills. Clubb lists himself as a primary pitcher and we’d agree at this point, but he has plenty of ability with the bat, too. On the mound, Clubb has an easy, balanced delivery with a smooth quick arm stroke and a fastball that is consistent in the 83-85 mph area. He maintained his velocity very well from the stretch. Clubb’s curveball is a hard, sharp breaking curveball at 74-76 mph. That kind of velocity on a curveball at Clubb’s age and with his present fastball velocity is almost a sure bet on his seeing his fastball velocity jump in the near future. He's going to throw 90 or better! Clubb’s swing at the plate is very smooth, with quiet hands to start and a level, direct path to the ball. He crushes the ball right now and should improve his overall bat speed and quickness as he adds strength and then catch up to the harder stuff. This kid has outstanding potential and needs to be followed. Tim is also a very good student.
