Aylor is a 6-1 right handed hitting first baseman from Florida. His twin brother Joe, a third baseman, was also at the Showcase. Their tools separate them well for their respective positions but they have very similar hitting approaches. Wayne hits from a narrow stance with a long stride and a level line drive swing plane. He closes off well on the ball and makes consistent solid contact to the middle of the field. Aylor had one game where he was 3-3 with three solid hits. Like his brother, he could develop more power with a bit better strength in his hands but he’s a solid hitter now. Aylor also pitched 3 innings in Fort Myers and showed some arm strength. He topped out at 82 mph on his fastball with a 66-68 mph curveball that showed good spin. Aylor is a good student, also.
