Andrew Aaron Martinez is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Community Christian HS. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.02 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and moves well on feet. Quick feet, charges in well, shows a short strength with solid arm strength across the diamond. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a compact arm action coming through the back side. Works exclusively out of the stretch, stays tall at balance point, short stride with lower half down the mound. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, generates run to arm side and filled up the zone with the pitch. Curveball shows 12-6 shape with depth and a nice feel for the pitch. Switch hitter, has a long, loose swing from the left side with a short path, extension out front and a nice feel for the barrel with quick hands. Pull approach from the right side with a loose, upper body swing and creates line drive contact to all fields. Very good student.
