Matt Allen is a 2014 C/3B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from St. Augustine, FL who attends Creekside HS. Medium frame, lean athletic build. Inside out approach at the plate, keeps hands inside the ball, simple setup in box, good strike zone judgement in game at-bats. Short to the ball, late load, good balance, lacks flow to ball to generate power, accelerates hands and is short enough to ball to find barrell even without present rhythm and will improve once he makes the adjustment, solid present contact ability in spite of it. Good exchange on catch and throw mechanics, quick defensive actions, accurate throws, efficient fundamentals, low set, good footwork. Good defensive catcher. Very good student,
