Jason Avers is a 2017 C/1B/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Walton HS. Medium athletic build, good present strength for a sophomore especially in the upper body. Right handed hitter, wide base, long and strong swing, swings hard, aggressive swing approach, will pull off his upper half at times, line drive swing plane, has the strength to continue to develop as a hitter. Very good arm strength behind the plate, has good footwork throwing and shifting, 1.94 best pop time, can improve hands and receiving skills. Also pitched, fastball to 83 mph, long stride out front, compact arm action. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
