Matt Rowland is a 2016 RHP/ with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Pope HS. Tall and slender build, plenty of room to get stronger, projects well physically. Extended 3/4's arm action, quick arm with some energy at release. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, gained velocity throughout his outing, gets very heavy and consistent sinking and running action, commands fastball well to the bottom of the zone with angle, very difficult to square or lift his fastball with the life and location, ground ball machine. Soft slider with fair spin and a big sweeping break, did not see a change up. Prototypical sinker/slider pitcher who is tough to hit when down in the zone. Verbal commitment to Kennesaw State.
