Patrick Martin is a 2016 RHP/C/IF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Kennesaw, GA who attends Kennesaw Mountain HS. Compact athletic build with good present strength, especially in the lower half. Simple leg raise delivery, slow pace, opens front side early and lands open, compact arm action with a tight over the top release, good downhill angle to the plate. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight but with good angle and some deception, threw strikes and got lots of early count swings and outs, curveball showed good downer spin and depth at times, rare change up, could mix his pitches more. Catcher's build, has good lower half flexibility behind the plate, rotational release throwing, young footwork, 2.00 best pop time, also plays multiple infield positions. Right handed hitter, rotational swing, raises up from a crouched stance, made consistent game contact with spray line drive results. Played with lots of energy and desire. Good student.
