2015 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Cody Underkoffler is a 2016 C/UT with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Crowley Lake, CA who attends Mammoth HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and has room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows a tight arm action at release from ear, quick transfer into fuller release, gains some ground with lower half, opens front side early at times, athletic actions with nice carry and accuracy to throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and medium hand set. Small leg lift trigger at start of swing with a short path to the ball. Upper body swing, line drive plane through zone to contact, occasionally gets to front side early, contact approach and shows a feel to it to the opposite field. Good student.
