Tanner Houck is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-5 185 lb. frame from Collinsville, IL who attends Collinsville HS. Tall lanky pitcher's build, lots of room to get stronger. Long whippy arm action, 3/4's slot, gets downhill with his pitches and pounds the lower part of the zone, good extension out front. Fastball to 83 mph, nice consistent tailing life, can throw his fastball to spots, deep sweeping slider is solid second pitch, mixes and knows how to pitch, projects to throw harder with additional strength. Right handed hitter, tall narrow stance, aggressive swing with some lift, best contact to right centerfield, playable defensive tools at third base, accurate throws. Good student.
