Erik Cha is a 2015 LHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Chino Hills, CA who attends Ruben S. Ayala HS. Long lean high waisted build, projectable physically. Slow paced delivery, long loose arm action, clean arm action coming through, low 3/4's arm slot with lots of angle to the plate, low effort release. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, good tailing life, can spot fastball to both sides of the plate. Tends to slow arm on off speed pitches but doesn't seem to affect the quaility, big sinking action on his change up, can add and subtract from curveball velocity and depth. Very advanced pitchability and can mix pitches in any order to any location, could have pitched at a higher level this outing the way he was sequencing and locating. Has some adjustments to make but could make them and really shoot up. Good student, verbal commitment to Cal State Fullerton.
