Richard Cruz is a 2015 RHP/3B, 2B, OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Miami Lakes, FL who attends Monsignor Edward Pace. Cruz has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He pitches from a an overhand arm slot with a long arm action with some arm speed. Cruz uses a high leg lift and gets closed at balance point. He has a fairly upright finish and finishes to the plate. Cruz has a balanced delivery and repeats well. He throws a tight breaking curveball at 74 MPH with good shape to it. Cruz pitched to the corners well and spotted his fastball well. At the plate, he uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing and has a line drive swing path. He gets some extension in his swing and he made solid contact. Defensively he showed good lateral movement and arm strength. Interesting 2015 RHP, good student.
