Matt Guenther is a 2014 OF/1B with a 6-0 213 lb. frame from Geneva, IL who attends Geneva Community HS. Extra strong build, looks like a catcher's body. 7.44 runner, moves well to the ball, some developing arm strength. Left handed hitter, crouched spread stance, toe tap trigger, uses lower half well, will occasionally open up early, shows bat speed and strength at contact, has some lift out front, stays short and simple to the ball, hard game contact, will occasionally get hands to low coming through the zone, has hitting tools to develop. Plays the game with lots of energy.
