Shane Potter is a 2015 1B/OF with a 6-5 218 lb. frame from Encinitas, CA who attends La Costa Canyon HS. Extra large and strong build, stands out physically on the field. Left handed hitter, very simple swing approach for his size, big hip coil and load, gets his lower half into the swing, will occasionally loose balance in his swing, very good raw bat speed with lift, overpowers the ball with strength, power to all fields, had a good game approach and saw the ball well, hard game contact. Had good hands at first base and made some plays, big target on throws, will always have to work on quickness and athleticism. Plays hard and enjoys playing. Potential middle of the line up run producer.
