Nick Dearing is a 2015 RHP/OF with a 6-1 162 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends Olympia HS. Slender athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. Sound delivery mechanics, efficient stride and front side action, over the top arm slot, works downhill well and repeats his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight, more velocity in his arm with additional strength. Curveball is his best pitch, sharp 12/6 downer action, shows very good command of curveball. Nice change up with arm side running action and deception, showed willingness to throw change up. Three solid pitches and good physical projection. Showed his athleticism in the outfield, 7.28 runner with a loose arm and accurate throws. Right handed hitter, stays on his backside, long uppercut swing, lack of strength impacts present hitting ability. Very good student.
