Saul Martinez is a 2016 3B/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Inglewood, CA who attends St John Bosco. Martinez has a medium sized frame with a strong build. Defensively he showed developing actions on the infield with good arm strength up to 83 MPH. Martinez showed a quick release and showed some quickness to his first step laterally. At the plate, he starts with a wide stance and has a busy hand load. Martinez glides to contact and is aggressive to the baseball. He made hard contact to all fields and showed good pop and showed some power potential. Martinez swung the bat well in games and showed good barrel skills. He has good hitting tools and showed some promise. Very good student.
