Zachary Baptist is a 2017 SS/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Boulder Creek HS. Medium, athletic frame with excellent projection levels remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.92 seconds. Showed extremely well with the bat throughout the event, collecting base hit after base hit, most of which were squared up line drives up the middle on a variety of pitches and locations. Shows the ability to get to all fields on that line drive swing plane, can drive ball into the gaps and projects for more power as he continues to get stronger. Worked out defensively in the infield, showed very clean actions with loose hips and easy footwork. Funnels well and fields cleanly, has range to both sides with clean hands to both sides. Shows quality arm strength across the diamond with quick release, clocked up to 81 MPH with good accuracy. Named to 2016 West Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List, good student.
