Justin Yang is a 2017 SS/RHP, 3B, 1B, 2B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Fountain Valley, CA who attends Fountain Valley HS. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and a projectable build. Ran a 6.96 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, takes short steps to the ball with athletic actions, good while charging in, consistently on top of throws with multiple points of release, good carry across with projectable arm strength. Also pitched, starts on the first base side of rubber with gradual built in delivery, leg lift to just above belt with slight effort at release. Works from a high three-quarter arm slot with a long arm circle in back. Topped at 85 mph with good running life and occasional sink when located down. Curveball flashed depth and 11-5 shape when on top, good arm speed and path in back, flashed CH at 75. Graded out higher as pitcher in this look. Switch-hitter, starts with wide base and high hand left-handed. Shows good bat speed and barrel feel with extension and contact out front, stays through the ball well with simple lower half weight shift. Similar set up from right side, opens front side early at times, line drive swing plane through zone with contact middle to opposite field, comes off barrel well. Named to West Coast Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
