John Mackay is a 2015 C/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Ramona, CA who attends Ramona. Large frame, strong, mature build, shows athleticism. Behind the plate shows a short arm action with some present arm strength, online throws to second base. Footwork allows Mackay to gain momentum towards second base on throws. Throws have tail, needs to work on getting on top of throws. Right-handed batter who starts from an upright, slightly open stance with high hand set. Good bat speed, consistently squares up the ball, big carry off the bat and shows very good strength at contact. Power will continue to develop. Very good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
