Brad Secrist is a 6'4" left handed hitting outfielder from Missouri who we’ve seen in the past. He has an above average MLB tool set and a high physical ceiling. In addition to being a 6'4" left handed hitter with the potential to add 20+ quality pounds of muscle, Secrist is a 6.94 runner with a present average Major League outfield arm despite mediocre throwing mechanics. We’ve seen Secrist take batting practice a couple of times and he’s a much better game hitter for us so far. Secrist will show serious LH power to both left centerfield and pulling the ball, and that power should just keep improving. He can be long to the ball and hit around it occasionally, but he has quick hands on his pitch and the ball jumps in a hurry on contact. With good coaching and added strength, Secrist is the type of player who could have lots of success through college and be a solid professional draft choice when he’s 21 years old. He could get some serious draft interest in 05. Brad is also an off the board student with an exceptional academic record.
