Mason O'Mara is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Shrewsbury, NJ who attends Red Bank Regional High School. Large, athletic frame with a strong, physical present build and has additional strength to fill out moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, small step moving into delivery before working to an extended three-quarters release, arm is clean and works well coming through back side. Does a nice job of working on top of the ball to generate consistent downhill plane and shows ability to locate fastball to either side of plate while consistently pounding the lower quadrants. Fastball topped at 83 mph with short running life, ball jumps out of hand. Shows a feel to spin quality slider with sharp tilting life at 70 mph, big curveball with depth in the mid-60s for strikes. Also threw from the outfielder and showed similar full arm action that's whippy at release, quick transfer, mostly upper half at release with accuracy to throws. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
