Matthew Holguin is a 2016 SS/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from El Paso, TX who attends Americas HS. Medium athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger.. Left handed hitter, leg lift trigger with a shift into contact, aggressive swing approach and creates bat speed, tends to step out severely and pull his front side early, must develop better direction to contact to to take advantage of his hitting potential. 7.34 runner, moves to the ball well in the infield with balanced athletic actions, has a quick release, especially good charging the ball, showed soft sure hands, second base arm strength. Also played the outfield. Good student.
