Ty Harpenau is a 2015 RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Fort Smith, AR who attends Southside HS. Long lean athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Easy smooth arm action, long extension in back, 3/4's arm slot, low effort release, solid overall mechanics. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, more velocity in there with additional strength, mostly straight with occasional arm side run, gets fastball to the glove side well. Hard breaking ball with tight spin and sharp biting action, has good feel for spinning the ball and will vary shape and location with intent. Polished pitcher who throws strikes and has an idea on the mound. Excellent student.
