Robert De La Cruz is a 2016 C/ with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Covina, CA who attends South Hills. De La Cruz has a medium sized frame with some strength. Defensively he starts with a slightly higher set up behind the plate and stands some on his pop throws. He has developing arm strength with velocity up to 67 MPH. De La Cruz has developing catch and throw actions and tools. He showed good receiving and blocking skills in the games portion. At the plate, De La Cruz starts with his hands close to his body and has a shorter swing path to the baseball. He has a rotational swing and he has some strength in his swing. De La Cruz made consistent hard line drive contact and showed an aggressive approach in the games portion of the showcase. He has solid hitting tools. Good student.
