Daniel Costanza is a 5'9" 160 pound 2006 second baseman from Pittsburg, California who attends De LaSalle High School. He has a medium frame and build and has some sloped shoulders. During the workout, he ran a 7.98 60 and threw 72 across the infield. Daniel is a compact fire plug with high energy. He has soft hands and the ability to turn the double play with out being intimidated by the runner sliding in. He has better first step quickness than the 60 shows and he has good instincts and anticipation to his game. Costanza has soft sure hands in the field and is very quick and has good instincts. He has a compact swing with good balance and the ability to spray the ball to all fields. He has good strength and makes crisp contact and has the ability to make adjustments at the plate to make it tough on his opponent. On the mound, Daniel touched 76 mph with a 64 mph breaking ball and a 65 mph change up. He has a compact arm action with good arm speed. His delivery is very compact and he gets good extension. Daniel is a very good student with a 3.48 gpa and a 1680 on his SAT.
