2006 Nor Cal Underclass Showcase
Danny Redburn is a 2008 OF/1B with a 5'9'', 160 lb. frame from Belmont CA, who attends Carlmont HS. He has an average athletic build on a small to average size frame. Redburn has some feel for the game and should be able to hit for average in the college game. He has a flat swing plane and flashed some extra base pop to the pullside. His hips work and so do his hands. Redburn also showed some bat speed and good timing, with a balanced, simple swing. His bat head is in the zone pretty well. He also ran the bases well, taking hard turns and putting some pressure on the defense to make clean plays. Defensively Redburn is an accurate thrower, with some carry on his throws. He takes good angles to the ball and is a solid outfielder, with tools that fit best in left. He made a defensive impression with a "wow" diving play across the right field line. Size and strength will go a long way to determining what level of college baseball Redburn will be most successful at. He does have good skill level.
