Alex Holdbrooks is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Villa Rica, GA who attends Villa Rica HS. Strong, sturdy build on compact frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, nice clean arm-action, works up to a high 3/4's arm slot, uses lower half well in delivery. Fastball up to 81 mph, shows ability to work to both sides of plate with offering and has good feel for mixing pitches. Quality curveball with 11/5 break, spins it well, has solid feel to locate it down in the strike zone for swings and misses. Also has really good feel for a fading changeup in the low-70's, thrown with good armspeed and it plays well of the fastball. Arm strength also shows up in the outfield, up to 86 mph in drills. Right handed hitter, high hand set, open stance and gets closed well. Strength in the swing, shows some developing feel for barrel, natural loft in swing, flashed good contact to the pullside. Very good student.
