Trey Fields is a 2017 RHP/MIF, C with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Englewood, FL who attends Lemon Bay HS. Has a medium frame and strength to size. Posted a 7.08 second sixty yard dash. On the mound, works quickly in delivery and gets downhill plane from his over the top arm slot. Arm action is short and compact and does have good speed. Fastball has good life down to the plate, curveball has solid depth and sharpness. Mixes pitches and looks on the mound well, controls the tempo and the running game. From the infield, had solid actions and made online throws with good accuracy. Behind the plate, had good actions with a quick release on throws, very accurate to the bag. From the left side of the plate, starts with a high hand set and leg lift trigger. Swings on a line drive swing plane with a middle of the field approach. From the right side of the plate, also has a leg lift trigger and high hand set. Keeps it simple, lets his hands and lower half work to the baseball on a level plane. Great student. Named to 2016 Florida Top Prospect List.
