Robert Oettinger is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Punta Gorda, FL who attends Charlotte HS. Medium athletic build, broad shoulders, good present strength for his age. Big leg raise delivery, stays balanced over the rubber well, compact arm action, 3/4's to high 3/4's slot, can use lower half better to generate velocity. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, have seen up to 82 mph at tournaments, throws cutter off fastball with a nice change up affect at times. Short slurve type curveball with some tight spin and short sweeping break, tends to miss arm side with many pitches. Left handed hitter, very spread stance, can hit taller and improve his shift into contact, rotational swing, swings hard and generates some bat speed due to strength, tools to improve as a hitter.
