Jacob Veliz is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-1 166 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends Lakeland HS. Large frame, thin athletic build with room to fill. Pitches from a three quarters arm slot. His curveball had big depth and 1-7 break, located effectively. Good fade and diving action on changeup, changed speeds well, quality secondary stuff. Hits from a slightly open stance with a noisy load and a loose swing with a line drive plane, showed good control of the barrel.
