Brandon Brookins is a 2016 C/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Palmetto Bay, FL who attends Miami Palmetto HS. Brookins has a medium sized frame with some present strength. Defensively he uses a short arm action with a high over the top release on his pop throws. Brookins stands to throw and has a short stride. He showed some quickness to his release with developing arm strength. Brookins showed some blocking skills in game and receiving skills as well. At the plate, he starts with a high back elbow with a calm balanced set up. Brookins has a middle of the field approach and made hard contact with line drives in batting practice. He gets his hands in a powerful position and showed good swing mechanics. Brookins has projectable hitting tools with bat speed and some pop. Good student.
