Preston Sam is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Weston, FL who attends Archbishop Edward McCarthy. Large frame with well-built, athletic frame; good projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.58 seconds. Sets up to hit with high hands and high back elbow, direct hand path through swing, shows solid bat speed and brings lower half well. Did a good job going to all fields with contact, worked up the middle and to the opposite field for the most part, has strength in swing. Worked out defensively in the infield, moves well to both sides and shows clean hands at the ball, gets into good position to throw with consistency and makes accurate throws across the diamond with arm strength clocked up to 81 MPH. Excellent student.
