Cade Negley is a 2017 RHP/IF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Butler, PA who attends Butler Area. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and present strength through frame. Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, shows a very short and compact arm action through the backside with a three-quarter release. Hip turn at top of delivery, has rhythm to mechanics quick arm coming through and is able to generate solid running life on fastball, topping 85 mph while locating down in the zone. Ball comes out of hand easily, shows nice feel for short 12-6 curveball, features depth and mixes effectively. Cutting action on changeup at 73 mph. Fields out front well in infield, nice carry with a quick arm and present arm strength, accurate across diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base, shows line drive swing plane. Nice strength coming off the barrel, stays behind the ball well with consistent contact to the middle and pull side part of the field. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
