Nicholas Dayton is a 2016 1B/OF/RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Wylie, TX who attends Wylie HS. Strong athletic build. Right handed hitter, busy rock back load, rotational swing with good strength and bat speed, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, patient game hitter, good extension out front, hard game contact to gap power, best contact opposite field. 6.77 in the sixty, 4.42 home to first, shows good footwork and agility at first base but has plenty of speed and arm strength to play the outfield. Also pitched, compact arm action with some hook in back, 3'4's arm slot, some back side collapse and drop and drive to release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, good changeup with arm speed and deception, soft spin on curveball. Quality all around athlete who should keep improving, a move to the outfield would help future value. Good student.
