Zach Gillissie is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Corona, CA who attends Corona. Large frame with excellent present build, good athleticism with projection remaining. Hits from open stance with medium stride, simple swing and approach with good bat speed and strength off the barrel. Shows ability to get hands inside to hit inner-third velocity. Works through the ball well in the OF with solid arm strength, topping at 85 MPH on accurate throws. Highest upside is on the mound, where he works from overtop slot and gets downhill with authority, generating excellent plane to the plate. FB worked 82-85 topping at 86 with good life to arm side, quick arm, attacks hitters with the vast majority of his pitches being fastballs. Projects to add velocity moving forward. CB showing 11/5 shape with quality depth and spin. Named to 2015 Sunshine West Top Prospect List. Very good student.
