Ty Saldana is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Maumee, OH who attends St John's Jesuit. Young, slender frame with significant room to add strength. Ran a 7.31 60 yard dash. Pitches from a deceptive delivery and stays compact. Releases from an over the top arm slot and stays closed with his stride. Flashes arm side running action on his 73 mph fastball. Also mixes a 61 mph curveball with 1-7 rotation and solid depth. Also mixes a changeup with late diving action. Bats left-handed, works from a balanced setup and has a high back elbow. Uses a small leg lift trigger, stays on top of the ball and makes solid contact to the middle of the field. Stays inside the ball and can go the other way. Arm strength is still developing from the outfield. Charges and moves well. Excellent student.
