JP Murphy is a 2018 OF/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Reisterstown, MD who attends Calvert Hall College HS. Tall and lanky athletic build, very projectable physically, has loose overall actions. Right handed hitter, nice hand path to the ball, has quick hands and stays short even for his length, times well and barrels up consistently, sound swing that he can build on as he gets stronger and fills out. 7.07 runner at the PG Junior National Showcase, makes very accurate throws with a quick release, is going to throw out runners with that combination. Should continue to improve in all areas.
