Alex Cohen is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Davidson, NC who attends Pine Lake Prep. Compact, young build with developing strength. Solid footspeed and developing athleticism. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Moves pretty well in infield, shows softer hands and fields ball pretty well, some rigidity in arm-action with developing arm strength, accurate throws to bases. Right handed hitter, lift and separate approach with aggressive hand load, flashes ability to barrel line drives to middle of the field. Good, quick hands at plate, contact hitter with developing strength. Also pitches, uses sidearm slot. Fastball up to 68 mph, good tailing action to the armside. Also mixes in sweeping slider that can keep hitters off balance. Tremendous student.
